Air France has recently announced its new long-haul business class B777-300ER cabin, designed to offer passengers a superior travel experience. With a focus on refinement and privacy, the new business class seat aims to provide comfort and convenience to travelers on long-haul flights. The airline is planning to launch this product in the fall of 2023, starting with flights between Paris and New York, a route once flown by Concorde.

3F concept for superior business class comfort

According to Air France, the new business class cabin is based on the 3F concept: Full Flat, Full Access, Full Privacy.

  • Full Flat refers to the seat's ability to convert into a fully flat bed that is 2 meters long (6’5”) for maximum comfort during long flights.
  • Full Access provides passengers with private access to their row, allowing them to move around and access their belongings without disturbing other passengers.
  • Full Privacy comes in the form of a sliding door that provides increased privacy and a cocoon-like atmosphere for passengers.

Superior comfort in new business class cabin seats

The new business class cabin seat is designed to enhance the travel experience with its new features. Passengers can enjoy a 17.3-inch 4K screen, noise-reducing headphones, Bluetooth connection, and wireless charger, among other features.

The seat also offers superior lumbar support, with ergonomically designed seat foam for maximum comfort throughout the journey, regardless of the seat position. Convert your seat into a bed with just one single motion — the bed measures 2m (6'5") long and 70cm (2'3") wide. The lighting in your cabin adjusts automatically based on your seat position, but you can also manually adjust it using the remote control.

Privacy for solo travelers and couples

The new business class cabin seat offers a perfect blend of conviviality and privacy, with a sliding door that can be opened to the aisle for those traveling alone or with someone. If passengers prefer more privacy, they can activate the “Do Not Disturb” function on one of the seat's control buttons to let the crew know they would like some privacy.

Air France’s fully refurbished fleet

Air France has revealed that 12 of its Boeing 777-300 fleet will be treated to the cabin upgrade. The airline will offer 48 premium economy seats on the jet, with 96cm (37.8-inches) of pitch, the same seats found on the Airbus A350. The Boeing 777-300 currently has just 24 premium economy seats. The economy class will have 273 seats with 79cm (31.1-inches) of pitch, which is a reduction from its current size of 315 seats.
